So good! We went for the burger + draft special on Tuesday and had the best burger ive had in recent memory. Paired it with an Old Fashioned and couldn't have left happier. Staff seemed happy and knowledgeable, ambience super chill, overall experience 10/10.
From the consistently excellent food to the exceptional service, Big Spruce is really getting it right. Being greeted by name upon arrival and having small order details memorized is so appreciated. It's not only the memorable meals, but the entire experience, that keep us coming back. In particular, the ‘mahogany’ popcorn chicken, fried chicken sandwich and the Spruce Burger are out of this world.
Always a perfect experience with exceptional weekly specials. $10 burgers and $5 draughts on Tuesdays???? Find me a place that does better.
The fries are SO GOOD! They let us sit with our dog at the picnic benches. I ordered an extra burger patty for her and they brought out one as big as her head. I really enjoyed the beet salad and potato leek soup too. My partner loved the burger. Super nice people and nice place.

Updated review as of 9/1/26. The Spruce burger is hands down the best burger in VT. An exceptional cheeseburger - order with an extra patty to take it over the top. Cooked to perfection accompanied by equally exceptional fries. If you love a good burger it is a must.

There's no sign, and you gotta pull hard on the door, but once you find your way in, they have fast friendly service and some of the best herded French fries I've ever encountered.
